My Ways of Working I me modi de laorar
In their books on DevOps, Gene Kim and his co-authors elegantly summed up my ideal way of working (or more realistically, where I should aim at) in their "Five Ideals of DevOps":
- Locality and Simplicity: organizational and/or technical complexity kill effectiveness and momentum. Seek single sources of truth and avoid overdependencies. Elegance lies in simplicty.
- Focus, Flow, and Joy: divide your work in small blocks to reduce the wait time of both you and the people depending on your work. Unpack big problems in quick tasks, and keep them flowing.
- Improvement of Daily Work: Always look for ways to improve how you work. Merkle, the first company I worked for, truly embodied the Kaizen philosophy of constant improvement and taught me to always chase process improvements.
- Psychological Safety: create an environment of mutual trust and respect, where people are incentivized to perform at their best
- Customer Focus: never forget who the customer is, and what they want. All core and support activities are done to provide the customer with the best product possible.

In practice Concretamente
I am trying to learn how I can support businesses thorugh IT, and how I can improve at doing so. My background is in Economics and Project Management but I'm currently trying to strenghten my profile with more IT competences.
